Dr. Zishan Ahmad Misbahi is a scholar, author, educator, and editor whose academic and literary contributions span Islamic Studies, literature, education, history, journalism, and contemporary intellectual discourse. With 22 years of professional experience, he has developed a substantial body of scholarly and literary work and has contributed actively to academic and public discussions on religion, society, education, and intellectual thought.
Dr. Misbahi received his higher education in Islamic Studies from Jamia Ashrafia, Mubarakpur, and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and holds a PhD. His doctoral research focused on the jurisprudential and mystical legacy of Makhdoom Sheikh Sa’duddin Khairabadi. He has also completed JRF-level research training in Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion and Civilization.
His professional career combines teaching, research, writing, editorial leadership, and academic engagement. He currently serves as a teacher at Jamia Arifia, Saiyid Sarawan, Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, while also serving as the Chief Editor of Imkanat. In this capacity, he leads the editorial team, reviews and edits scholarly submissions, and oversees the preparation and finalization of the journal.
As an author, Dr. Misbahi has published numerous books addressing Islamic thought, theology, Sufism, history, contemporary issues, and intellectual discourse. His wider literary contribution includes more than 200 articles and research papers, along with approximately 50 book reviews published in various magazines and journals.
His intellectual engagement extends beyond writing and teaching. He has presented research papers at national and international conferences on subjects ranging from the contemporary intellectual challenges facing Muslims and Islamic education to Qur’anic thought, Sufism, and the development of Muslim intellectual life.
