Editorial Review Process

Every submission undergoes an editorial evaluation before publication.

The review process generally includes:

  1. Initial editorial screening.
  2. Assessment of originality, relevance, and quality.
  3. Review for clarity, structure, and language.
  4. Fact-checking and source verification where applicable.
  5. Editorial revisions in consultation with the author.
  6. Final approval by the Editorial Board.

Imkanat currently follows an editorial (non-anonymized) review process conducted by the Editorial Board. A formal single-blind or double-blind peer-review process may be introduced for specific categories of submissions as the journal develops.

The editorial team reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet the magazine’s standards or editorial objectives.


Originality

Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere, unless clearly disclosed and approved by the editorial team.

All submissions may be screened for plagiarism and improper attribution.


Accuracy and Sources

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of facts, quotations, references, statistics, and citations contained in their work.

Whenever appropriate, claims should be supported by reliable primary or secondary sources.


Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly quality, relevance, originality, and adherence to ethical standards.

Neither financial interests, political affiliations, institutional influence, nor personal relationships shall determine editorial decisions.


Respectful Communication

Imkanat encourages rigorous debate while maintaining respectful discourse.

Submissions containing:

  • Personal attacks
  • Defamatory statements
  • Hate speech
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Misinformation
  • Incitement to violence
  • Content that threatens the sovereignty, integrity, or security of India, or its friendly relations with foreign States
  • Content that promotes enmity or hatred between different religious, racial, linguistic, or regional groups, or disturbs public order

will not be accepted for publication.


Corrections and Updates

If a significant factual error is identified after publication, Imkanat will issue an appropriate correction, clarification, or update as soon as reasonably possible.

Where necessary, published articles may also be withdrawn with an accompanying editorial notice.


Author Responsibility

Authors remain responsible for the opinions, interpretations, and conclusions expressed in their work.

Publication in Imkanat does not necessarily imply endorsement by the Editorial Board or the publisher.


Conflict of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers should disclose any financial, institutional, or personal interests that could influence the objectivity of the publication process.

Where a conflict exists, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure an impartial editorial decision.


Open Access Policy

Imkanat is an open-access quarterly digital magazine.

All published content is freely accessible to readers without subscription fees or paywalls. Readers are encouraged to share published material for educational and non-commercial purposes with proper attribution.


Copyright

Authors retain the copyright to their original work unless otherwise agreed.

By publishing with Imkanat, authors grant the magazine a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, distribute, and promote their work across its digital and print platforms while ensuring appropriate attribution.


Editorial Amendments
