Ahmad Jawed is a distinguished journalist, public intellectual, media strategist, editor, columnist, news analyst, and author with more than 30 years of professional experience in the Urdu and Hindi news and views industry. His career reflects extensive engagement with journalism, editorial management, media analysis, literature, history, and public discourse.
He currently serves as General Secretary (Media & Research) of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), New Delhi, and as Editor of SAQA FAT.NET, a digital Urdu news and views magazine. His professional career has also included senior editorial positions at The Inquilab, The Hindustan Express, Nagrik Darpan, Aaj Ka Akhbar, The NAI DUNIYA, The NAI ZAMEEN, and The Sangam.
Beyond newspaper journalism, Jawed has served as Consultant Editor (Urdu & Hindi) with UNICEF India and has worked with media and public-relations organizations in editorial and communications capacities. He has also contributed to AIR/DD and other radio and television platforms, delivering numerous talks and news features over several decades. His work has extended into contemporary digital journalism, including editorial and socio-political analysis.
His journalistic contributions have earned significant recognition, including the A. R. Malihabadi Award from the West Bengal Urdu Academy, the Ghulam Sarwar National Award from the Bihar Urdu Academy, the Aabru-e-Sahafat Award for outstanding contribution to creative journalism, and the Pride of Journalists Award from the Urdu Media Guild, Lucknow.
As an author, translator, and editor, Ahmad Jawed has published more than ten books covering journalism, history, biography, creative literature, columns, and education. He has also maintained a long-standing presence as a columnist, including Fikr-i-Farda and Zawiyah, reflecting his continuing engagement with social, political, cultural, and intellectual issues.
